_the professional brings a 1968 Farfisa Professional to life in Ableton Live with 544 samples, 128 presets, and custom vintage effects.
We spent an unhealthy amount of time capturing every key, voice, and quirk of a 1968 Italian organ masterpiece. Now it’s a high-fidelity recreation of low-fidelity soul. Fun fact, it’s known as an “organ” but it’s made from a synthesizer. Its sound is one of those Wooly meets Bully type sounds. Perhaps it’s for the real Hammond haters out there? At the time it was considered a bold, aggressive, and pretty progressive choice for an organ sound. However you describe it, it’s an iconic sound in popular music.
There are many things you can do with this Ableton Farfisa that you can’t do with the real thing. Although we sampled every voice from the original unit, we did not sample any “organ stops” of any voices, as that would be impractical as a sample-based Ableton instrument. We decided that the many individual voices you can now freely mix together provided enough harmonic variation as-is.
